The Silver Speck (previous working title, The Silver Fox) follows on from the storyline in The Silver Lining. 

After a short stay at Magnolia Court, Penny Reilly returned to her farm in Australia, leaving her close friend, Stan, behind. At the time, she thought she’d made the right decision.

That she’d made a mistake soon became clear, but Penny was too proud to admit it to her friends back at Magnolia Court. Instead, Penny wove a story of truths and untruths – a story that she wrote not long after she arrived back home in Australia on July 12^th 2022. (The Silver Lining).

When the bank calls in its loan, Gary and Bobby Reilly face a brutal choice — go under or sell off part of the family farm.

Long-time family friend and financial adviser Ronnie Sullivan brokers a deal. But there are strings attached.

Gary is wedded to the sheep farm. Bobby hates it with a vengeance and will do almost anything to break free. And Bobby needs money. Fast.

Leaving behind little more than a cryptic note asking close friend Stan to sell her cottage, Penny returns to Australia.

But something is very wrong at Reillys.

An unexplained fall from her horse leaves Penny a shadow of the woman she once was. As one crisis follows another, questions mount, and the people closest to her begin to wonder what is really happening at Reillys.

Thousands of miles away, Stan knows feels that something isn’t right.

Fighting a guilty conscience and running out of options, Gary finally turns to Stan for help.
